This launched a writing career for Helen and she began writing other picture books, chapter books, devotionals and board books for the youngest children. Together with David, her artist husband, she launched out in 1987 on an assignment they felt called to do – working on a picture book of Psalm 23. Forty of these books were published with major Christian publishing houses such as Multnomah, Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, Baker Books, New Leaf Press, and Harvest House. Twenty years later she’s privileged to be an award-winning author of 45 books. When Helen was growing up, she never planned to be a writer.
